This is part of a daily writing project in conjunction with photographer Sarah Tesar. For every day of May 2017 I will be writing a short piece inspired by Sarah’s daily photos as posted on her Instagram feed.

Burning deep from within. And only from within. Glowing, simmering hot with passionate rage. Like a heating coil, bright red and scalding to the touch.
And yet all around is cold. Unknowing, unaware of the fire within. The angry one sits still, unassuming. Unremarkable on the surface, but in a controlled yet frantic state within. Pure, conflicted turmoil. Raw, stifled energy with nowhere to go. An emotional feedback loop, unbroken.
Scorching hot. And yet so, so cold.
