The Sun, The Crown

This is part of a daily writing project in conjunction with photographer Sarah Tesar. For every day of May 2017 I will be writing a short piece inspired by Sarah’s daily photos as posted on her Instagram feed.

Staring into a crown. Opulent and mottled pink spires, glowing white, folded over red inner walls that fad black before a lower ring of fire. And even that seems to emanate, burning like pilot lights, from below a complex sun. A sun, at the center. A rich, patterned epicenter of golden yellows and oranges and ochres. Burning like a sun, shimmering and simmering with quiet power.

Never destructive. Only inviting and giving and limited in life. But oh so worth it.

Enjoy it while you can.
