This is part of a daily writing project in conjunction with photographer Sarah Tesar. For every day of May 2017 I will be writing a short piece inspired by Sarah’s daily photos as posted on her Instagram feed.

It waits in its own time. And it comes as it will. With patience and fervour, without deniability, it prepares. It rests, sleepless. It prepares, indefinitely. And when it arrives, it does so with the slowest of explosion. A massive impact, never seen, never heard. Only felt, over time.
This is the true test of nature. Natural stillness, natural movement. Natural growth, life and death. Unforced; simply a force unto itself. Nothing that can be made to happen. To force nature’s hand is to defeat its purpose. To ruin its glory. To strip it of the beauty that exists whether fawned over or not.
So let it rest. Let it stir indiscernibly. And when it wakes, so will everything else.
